Minutes of March 1, 2010
Topic: Club business meeting
President Deb Kunferman
opened the meeting with presentation of copies of the last Board meeting to the
club. Treasurer Angie Martens gave
comments on club finances.
Secretary Keith
Anderson provided an update on club membership, which is now at 51, just below
our 2009 maximum of 52.
John Garibaldi spoke on the
potential Field of Dreams project to provide softball facilities on the
elementary school playground. The
club is considering providing $3000 a year for three years. Questions were raised concerning
committing the club for future years.
With a balance of ca. $7000 now, there would be no problem for the first
two years. Special fundraising and
possible Kiwanis matching grants will be pursued.
President Deb asked for input
for future meeting speakers. Brian
Niemann and Matt Gores will put together a panel discussion on investing.
Alan Wilhelmi and Roger
Anderson gave a brief report on the Rutabaga stand.
Brian Niemann is exploring
the scheduling of a progressive dinner or catered dinner at the Lach Haus.
There was not enough time
remaining for committee meetings, but a committee list will be passed out at
our next meeting for updating and activating of the committees.
